ORION TYP.420A is a four bands superheterodyne.

The knob in the left side operates the power switch / volume control and the knob in the right side has two separated functions: the tuning and the band switch. This knob, has two distinct axial positions: one to push and one to pull; in the first condition its rotation drives the tuning dial pointer, in the second condition its rotation operates the band switch.
